What do you think that we determine Saint who will be protector of our brotherhood and of course that day will be our holiday. What do you think about that? God bless you
I too have thoughts about this, the original logo was suppose to be of St George killing the dragon, so I always pull towards St George - but its my bias as thats my Slava also.
Do we decide now or wait to grow a bit more in membership numbers? Love to hear opinions
St George is good. His troparion is a good approximate mission statement & rationale for brotherhoods. He has an ancient and established role as a patron of such societies and exemplifies the basic virtues that Orthodox men should strive to assimilate. There could be others, but as principal patron saint, he's a good choice.
OK, so I think that maybe we look at some of the other warrior saints of the church, or even St. Anthony the Great who was a desert dweller and battled demons.... kinda feel that we are in that type of fight with establishing this Project as well.... We could also choose St. Michael the Arch Angel
or St. Nicholas of Myra and Lycia, both have been known as saints that fit this sort of group.... But whichever one is chosen by this Project.... I would like to challenge everyone that reads this to donate an icon of our Holy Patron to our local church from the "Orthodox Brotherhood Project"... This would be a very tangible way that we can start helping our churches today.... Thoughts on this?

hear more opinions.
